Determine If You Need a Therapeutic Use Exemption TUE FAQs

Research your medication using Global DRO and note the status, route, and WADA classification. For athletes not in a testing pool, it's important to note the difference between substances which are prohibited only during competition and those substances which are prohibited at all times.
2.  Determine your athlete category.
3.  Consult the table below to determine the requirements for that substance based on your competition level.

A TUE is not needed in advance of a competition for only those substances which are prohibited only during competition.


Why Not

 
A TUE is need prior to using any prohibited-at-all-times substance except for a few exceptions which include:

1 - Diuretics and masking agents
2 - Beta-2 agonists
3- Insulin (If you have been diagnosed with insulin-dependent diabetes.)
